It has so many uses that it's hard to go into detail. Basically it lets people know you're in the clinic for a reason, or you're low on mana while fighting, or that you just want to show off how much HP you have.

It's so useful when you need to let other players know you need to be healed or that they better start hitting more because you're running our of mana for vigs. I know group does a similar thing, but this allows players to draw attention to themselves, and also takes up only one line.

Also, I'd like to see the addition of a command called 'toss' - even though I know it's not a social, I'm not sure where else to put it.

I had an issue today where my inventory was full, and since i was carrying a lore item i couldn't drop it to retrieve my armor I had dropped to pick it up. I had to run around GB until I found a pawn, then fumble back through Meadhill to find my armor again. A toss command would have come in handy in that situation.

It also comes in handy when you're grinding and there's a lot of drops so you have to 'get all' but when you drop used up wands you don't want to pick them back up.

The Herb Store sells this really cool bag which eats any unwanted items
Sorta like a portable pawn without the compensation.
