Blinded and diseased, Thade wandered into the Highport Clinic, foaming blood from his mouth. The Orc-Shaman Gruba had defeated him once again. Barely conscious, an altruistic surgeon saved him.
Thade lies there still nursing his wounds from this most-embarassing defeat.

One thinks that perhaps Thade should have avoided visiting the Brothels of Oceancreast with such regularity as catching an un-curable ailment such as this was bound to happen eventually!
-------------------------
I'm not sure offhand if it's a bug or just a silly display issue. I'll see if it was meant to be permanent (until cured) or if for some reason the timer didn't get set properly. If it was meant to be permanent unless cured I'll look into updating the display.
I need to rewrite the disease and festering wounds routines in Python anyway....stupid real life keeping me busy :P

Pretty sure it's "permanent until cured". It will get removed when you die or when someone casts cure-disease on you.
Slow-poison acts in a similar way - it says "permanent", but really only sticks around as long as you are poisoned. Again, display issues. Heaven doesn't want me and Hell is afraid I'll take over.
