Is this really essential to the operation of the mud? Would it not be possible to allow for a connection not have to wait on dns?

Just a bit of an annoyance when connecting, sometimes DNS lookups take minutes at a time for me.

Just now it sat for nearly 2 minutes giving me:

I'm looking into why it take so long sometimes, but yes it is essential. If we have a problem player and want to ban him from the mud, ban *.aol.com works well. If we don't do a dns lookup or if we let him in while it waits, he can still get in and cause trouble. This is the motivation for it.

I'll do some profiling and find out where it's taking so long, and hopefully get it fixed up but it's staying in.
