Earthen Tunnel
This room is incredibly humid and damp, so much so that the act of breathing in the thick air can become incredibly laborious. The sound of trickling water echoes through the earthen cavers, emanating from a thick iron grate just below you. It's not hard to propose that some kind of subterranean waterway has granted the smugglers a way to bring illicit goods in to Ruhrdan without detection. Obvious exits: out, barred grate[cl]. You see three merrow smugglers (M). The merrow smuggler (M) is attacking you. The 2nd merrow smuggler (M) is attacking you. The 3rd merrow smuggler (M) is attacking you. (149 H 55 M): You wield an elder lord's sword (+3). The power of the Runelords flows through you. (149 H 55 M): The 3rd merrow smuggler (M) gutted you for 20 damage. Your elder lord's sword glows with power against the merrow smuggler (M). You slide around the merrow smuggler (M)'s attack and slash him for 31 damage. You laugh at the 2nd merrow smuggler (M) as you easily dodge his attack. (129 H 55 M): You FUMBLED your weapon. (129 H 55 M): Mend-wounds spell cast. (142 H 51 M): You wield an elder lord's sword (+3). The power of the Runelords flows through you. The 3rd merrow smuggler (M) casts a electrocution spell on you for 50 damage. The merrow smuggler (M) pierced you for 19 damage. Your mottled ogreskin buckler just got a little more scratched. The merrow smuggler (M) poisons you! Your elder lord's sword glows with power against the merrow smuggler (M). You pierced the merrow smuggler (M) for 31 damage. (61 H 51 M): Beginning recall sequence. Initiating auto-recall. You phase in and out of existence. The Origin You find yourself at the Origin. If you are new to this mud, type go tutorial to enter the tutorial section. This is the Origin of Life, a spiritual place where all living creatures enter the world of Derlith. A magnificent door carved out of a single piece of jade and decorated with the finest gems and metals leads to the world beyond. The Book of Knowledge, an ancient tome some say was written by the gods themselves when they created Derlith, floats about the area. An obsidian obelisk placed near the jade door has some information carved on it regarding this world. Obvious exits: jade door, tutorial. You see a Book of Knowledge, an obsidian obelisk. (61 H 51 M): Poison courses through your veins. (40 H 51 M): The Origin You find yourself at the Origin. If you are new to this mud, type go tutorial to enter the tutorial section. (40 H 51 M): You step through the jade door and into the world of Derlith. Skies Above Highport You are floating above the free city of Highport. From up above the city looks relatively peaceful and benign, but once you go down there, you will quickly learn Highport is a city in chaos. Evil lurks around every corner, reflecting the anarchy that seems to have invaded all of Derlith. Below you is the Highport Market Square, a flurry of activity. While you are a free floating form, you might as well float around the clouds a bit and enjoy yourself before descending to the city below. Obvious exits: down. (40 H 51 M): Highport Market Square You are in Highport Market square. It is quite busy. Highport's market bustles with activity. All around you, you can see vendors selling things at small stands, customers bartering with them, and even some thieves and beggars eying potential victims or benefactors. All manner of goods can be found in Highport's market. It is known throughout all of Derlith as the place to get things. The market surrounds you to the north, south, east, and west. You might as well buy a few things while you're here..but watch out for thieves! Obvious exits: north, east, south, west. You see a pickpocket, a wino. You see a Marble Fountain, a hand axe, a stone scroll. (40 H 51 M): A wino just stumbled away. Poison courses through your veins. (19 H 51 M): Highport Market West This is the western part of the Highport market. Here during the day, musicians play and entertain people shopping in the market. Some of them are very good, and others just plain stink at their trade. Occasionally someone will get up and sing. Local bards love this part of the market and often frequent it, singing, playing music and telling stories. Obvious exits: north, east, south, west. You see an iron pot, a sheet music. (19 H 51 M): Highport Market West Entrance This is the western entrance to the Highport Market. To the west beyond an arch of stone is Kilborn Street. You can also see a shop of some sort there across the street. To the east the market thrives as money changes hands. A Highport guardsman is always on station here, watching for thieves. Rogues beware, as he gets reinforced often. Obvious exits: east, arch. (19 H 51 M): Kilborn Street Kilborn Street continues north and south. To the east is a stone arch leading into the Highport Market. Highport's principle pawn shoppe is to the west. Many people go there to check values of items they may have or to trade them for cash. To the south you can see the entrance to the Highport Municipal Clinic, where people go to get medical treatment and healing. It's also said to be a good place to rest. Obvious exits: north, south, west, arch. (19 H 51 M): Kilborn Street Kilborn Street continues north and south. You can hear the loud noise from the Highport Market to the east. To the west is Highport Municipal Clinic. You can see many volunteer nurses and doctors helping, as well as a few specialists. Wounded people can be seen wandering in and out of the building. Obvious exits: north, south, west, stone door[c]. You see a doctor. (19 H 51 M): Highport Municipal Clinic You are in the Highport Municipal clinic. Here is where you may get healing assistance as well as rest if you feel fatigued. The doctors and surgeons can help you if you are hurt, diseased, or even blind and deaf! Of course, they will require a fee from you unless it is the most minute of injuries you have. Also, as is true in any clinic, the wait is always quite excruciating. Obvious exits: east. You see four doctors, a surgeon. You see a Clinic Staff Sign, a grizzly bearskin belt (broken), some grizzly bearskin boots (broken), two knifes. The surgeon casts a heal spell on you. A doctor just wanders away. (206 H 51 M): You sit down. (206 H 51 M): Poison courses through your veins. Connected to host mud.rohonline.net So basically, I was trying to pick the grate, then a smuggler comes in. I attack it, 2 more come in, I get my ass kicked, then I get poisoned. I hit the recall button and run to the clinic. A surgeon casts heal on me, I get all my HP back, then poison kicks in and I get drained for 20hp per poison hit, which was draining crazy fast (why I kept checking effects). Docs were vigging me but not fast enough, so I stole a jade potion and used it, which didn't help much. I panic and run east for some reason, then run back in the clinic and die. Any chance of a restore? Would be much appreciated.

The new poison system does damage at a rediculously high rate. I got poisoned by trap in Oakspire on Kefka and was taking damage every 4 seconds...dunno if this is exactly what Bane had in mind, but it seems awefully harsh.

O:-)
I'll fix the speed at which poison ticks when I get to work, the delay mechanics have changed slightly and the current speed's an over sight. -Bane
