Store Formatting Ideas

Personally I think the current formatting of stores is hard to read over, so here are some formatting ideas.

First store layout:

Code:

list
Saito is selling:
+-----+------------------------------------+----------+-----+--------------------+----------+
| Num | Item | price | Qty | Condition | Category |
+-----+------------------------------------+----------+-----+--------------------+----------+
| 1 | Bronze dragonscale faceguard (+2) | $5000 | 666 | Slightly Scratched | Armor |
| 12 | rothe horn | $8000 | 1 | Pristine | Misc |
| 123 | saltwater scroll (M) | $500 | 20 | Pristine | Scroll |
+-----+------------------------------------+----------+-----+--------------------+----------+

Also i was thinking along the lines of being able to list items by category, as well as listing categories, eg:

Code:

list categories
Available Categories:
Armor, Misc, Scroll

list armor
+-----+------------------------------------+----------+-----+--------------------+----------+
| Num | Item | price | Qty | Condition | Category |
+-----+------------------------------------+----------+-----+--------------------+----------+
| 1 | Bronze dragonscale faceguard (+2) | $5000 | 666 | Slightly Scratched | Armor |
+-----+------------------------------------+----------+-----+--------------------+----------+

In addition I was thinking it would be nice to be able to look at the items before you buy them, eg:

Code:

preview #1
It is an intimidating mask made from bronze dragonscales.
The bronze dragonscale faceguard (+2) is considered chain armor.
It is in slightly scratched condition.

Especially with the weapon changes, it would be nice to know what kind of weapon I was buying to see if I could even use it or not.

I agree. It has always been such a drag finding a new item and being the wrong class -- then having to go through the process of transferring it to every other type of class/race to see who could use it.

It would be helpful to somehow see what restrictions were on an item...even if it had to be done through Bard ID or some other means.

An example could be the following:
The dragon blade (+3) can be used by the following classes:
Fighter, Berserker, Assassin
The dragon blade (+3) can be used by the following races:
All races
The dragon blade (+3) requires X swords skill to use.
The dragon blade (+3) requires level X to use.

Additionally, as future changes are implemented, there should be a way to see what effect items will have:
The necromancers' robe (+1) has the following effects:
Intelligence +15
Piety -5
Drain-shield
