I was thinking that for fun, we could ride horses or pseudodragons. This could use the same code as pets, but limit their abilities. Rides would be completely passive - i.e., you can "mount" them, or they will simply follow you around. Pet classes - they can only have their pet or a mount (or mount their pet). I don't think this would be too difficult to code - it's mainly the output that's different.
You see a horse, a lesser dragon, a greater dragon.

You fail to tame the horse.

You successfully tame the horse!
The horse starts following you.
: mount horse
You mount the horse.
