I gave the modem and the router a fresh reboot, so try again. The IP address didn't change. Heaven doesn't want me and Hell is afraid I'll take over.

The problem is Dom's machine is having trouble translating the player's ip into a domain name. Either fubar's isp's domain server is slow, or dom's is having trouble. Due to problem players in the past, I made the dns lookup be required to be finished before being allowed to log in to make the ban system work properly.
Laggy DNS's used to slow down the mud, now they just slow down the player. I'll see if i can't set it to time out after a certain about of time....it usually times out pretty quicly, no idea why it's been taking so long recently.

damn... now my home computer is effected too. Is it the ISP around the area or something? Or is it sbc global's problem?

If you are having this problem find your real ip and PM me it & I'll look into it.
(no 192.168.1xxxx #'s please...those are worthless -- if you're on a router look at the status page of it or find a website that'll report your ip)
I'm hoping to have this fixed soon, but hard to debug without getting in direct contact with someone having the problem right now.
