As duo was traveling with us using my mage Bandit yesterday, we suddenly noticed Bandit lost a level.... No death yesterday.....

i know the xp table changed could be something to do with that.

It might be - this version of the mud had different exp tables, for whatever reason. You lost no experience in the duel, but the mud recalculated your level.
