So I watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3 over the weekend and I still had some lingering questions.

If you haven't seen the movie, stop reading!

• Why does Will's father cut his son's heart out? Davy Jones cut his own heart out because he didn't want to feel heartbreak and betrayal anymore, it had nothing to do with becoming captain of the ship. Why did Will's heart have to be cut out for him to become captain, then?
  
  
• How can Jack Sparrow and Barbosa both be pirate lords if Barbosa was Jack's first mate pre-first-movie?

1) I assume the heart is part of how you would bind yourself to the Flying Dutchman. It doesn't really make sence tho.

2) And you have to be captain to be a pirate lord. Jack was captain prior so he's already good for all the that. Barbosa later became a captain after the mutiny. Which would have made him applicable for a pirate lord.

All and all tho, was the movie good? I just played the video game (which SUCKED MY BALLS). Ive been meaning to go as I am a fan of the series.
