The tournament will consist of a large number of NPCs (perms) fighting it out to determine who is mightiest NPC in Derlith. Each NPC will be placed in a room against their opponent and forced to fight...to the death! Players will be able to attend and spectate should the wish. Beverages and souvenirs will be available.

    HorseHorseMadness ScheduleHorseHorse

Over the next 6 days (deadline February 17) players are welcome to submit nominations by replying to this thread for NPCs they would like to see participate in the tournament. After that, game staff will finalize the list of participants and 'seed' them accordingly.

    Note
: Please feel free to nominate any of your favorite NPCs from the game, regardless of level. For example, if I REALLY want to see Bobby Blaze the Hippie in action then by golly, I'm going to nominate the heck out of him.
Note 2: Limited event NPCs (ie, the Nexus Avatar) are excluded from this event as they were designed using a different methodology.

Tournament Brackets will be made available for all players by February 19th (via Google docs). The tournament bracket will match up all NPCs such that players can predict who would win in each match up. Players may then choose to participate in the bracket game by submitting their predictions. Players will then have until February 25th to submit their brackets into the contest.

Tournament rounds will take place on Thursdays and Fridays beginning March 1 and conclude on March 22. The exact schedule will be released when the tournament bracket is complete.

Only 1 entry may be made per player (not player character). Players who wish to take part in the bracket contest must also pay a 20,000 gold piece entry fee. This fee can be submitted in person or via bank transfer to Nikola. The player fees will be added to a pre-determined amount to comprise the prize pool.

Players can choose to create brackets and make predictions but will not be eligible for the prizes if they do not submit an entry fee

Each round of the tournament will be progressively scored based on the number of correct predictions each player makes (ie, Round 1 may be worth 1 point per correct prediction, whereas Round 3 may be worth 4 points per correct prediction). At the conclusion of the tournament, the scores will be tallied and a winner will be announced.

The winner of the contest will receive a trophy (holding item) and 80% of the prize pool. The 2nd place winner will receive 20% of the prize pool. (no participation ribbons will be available).

The winning NPC will receive an addition to their room to denote their status as tournament champion.

Excellent nomination.

Keep in mind: you can nominate as many as you'd like.

The base prize pool is 250,000 gold before player fees (each fee will be matched when being added to the prize pool).

You left out Billy Blaze.

Darsk was the big bad in the old days, I wonder where he sits now. I'm not 40, so I don't deal with the biggest perms in the game, so I have no idea how tough those serpents really are.

I also want to nominate Tormenos the Barkeep.
