I hope the few of you who logged in over the last few weeks were able to pick up some Halloween treats if you happen to find them...and want them.

I also hope you're ready for a Christmas Invasion. In the coming weeks Highport will become the centerpiece for an eternal struggle between St. Nick and Krampus. The two will square off by waging war with their armies of gnomish tinkers, clockwork reindeer, snow elementals, svarte piete, and more.

Those who choose to take up the fight will be rewarded - whether naughty or nice Smile

As an aside - I haven't been active the last 10 months or so due to the demands of real life but I should have some extra time going forward to get this old beast rolling toward its 20th birthday.

The sound of jingle bells is in the air.

Clockwork reindeer are now running amok in the city of Highport. Should you manage to put an end to their frolic and collect enough sleigh bells then then you will be rewarded as follows:

10 silver sleigh bells - 250,000 gold coins
30 silver sleigh bells - glowing red nose (+4): holding item
50 silver sleigh bells - angel wings: neck armor that grants fly

10 glass-crystal sleigh bells - giant candy cane (+4): spear weapon
30 glass-crystal sleigh bells - slay bell (+5): mace weapon
50 glass-crystal sleigh bells - crystal clockwork leggings (+4): leg armor that grants haste

NOTE: The sleigh bells will need to be traded to Saint Nicholas when he appears and all bells must be in pristine condition to be accepted. Each trade tier is limited to 1 time per player. If you don't get enough to reach your goal before the event ends then don't worry, the bells have an intrinsic value of their own.

PS additional holiday mobs will be appearing over the holiday as well

Krampus has unleashed his horde of angry tomte to smite down the reindeer of Saint Nicholas. Though generally seen as benign, an angry tomte is no pushover, some stories tell how the tomte could drive people mad and infect them with a poison bite bite them. It's said that the bite is so poisonous that otherworldly healing is required. As the story goes, a girl who was bitten by a tomte withered and died before help arrived.

Saint Nick may need to send in reinforcements Horse

Possibly so!? Saint Nicholas has sent forth his svarte piet minions to battle off the tomte. The diminutive gnome-like creatures will assist each other and any reindeer that come under assault.

Note: due to a bug with the aggro-code, the mobs will cause XP loss if they kill you. So treat fighting them like anything else.[/quote]

Belated seasons greetings all. By now some of you have found Krampus hiding out in one of the more filthy tons of central Highport. (as a sidenote, did you know that this particular room was originally created as a safe alternative to a popular clinic for Outlawed players?)

Hopefully you're finding his company enjoyable. Saint Nick has been busy recuperating after his busy week and has been a tad delayed.

As such, an additional reward is being offered:

- 100 glass-crystal sleigh bells: an indestructible ring that provides an unparalleled amount of magical protection (for rings). The player can select the color of their ring upon receipt (1 per customer).

Clockwork reindeer will be deactivated in the new year and Saint Nick will come to collect bells afterward and throughout the week.

PS: dying to Krampus will not cause xp loss
