When I came back in December there was actually a lot of people online most of the time. You could group. You could chat. You could share knowledge. You could pkill, or have your ass kicked. It was nothing like the good old days when you'd have 10-20 people online, but at least there was some "life" over there.

Now everytime I log in I'm alone. I spent some time to level up my main character lately. Aside from Mithas who logs 10 times a day and a few others I met once in a while, I mostly played alone.

This is getting really boring. I guess I'm only playing out of addiction. To have that feeling again. But even that feeling is not there again.

Is RoH dead? Or is it just some normal seasonal cycle? I mean, it's been like that for a long time. I don't remember seeing much people online since spring!

Certainly looks like it is, MUDs in general just aren't what they were 10 years ago when RoH opened up. You would be hard pressed, if not impossible altogether, to find a teenager that even knows what a mud is.

When I was still actively involved with everything around here, I'd say players often come and go ... same with our lovely DMs :P I usually tried to recruit more people at the rate we were losing them though.

I think a lot of us that were playing just ended up getting real busy with real life. At least for me, it has taken priority and I've just gotten so busy/focused that I can't even fit in some time for MUDing.

But I definitely miss this place and hope it will still be active when I have time to come back.

Clearly Jacko needs to do another recruitment post on 4Chan, lolol.

It worked, we got like 5 people to come try it out.

I think there should be a purge. It would peak a lot of interest.

I'm the last person you'd expect to jump on this bandwagon, but I can't say I disagree. And while this was consideration brought up in the past, I would argue that it is more beneficial now than it would have been before.

Bane! Where's Bane! He always comes out when purges are brought up! lol :P

Come on Oce. This is a perfect time for a purge. It needs to happen. There should be be a special player deal for a month to gain some kind of benefit, like a storage room, while advertising a purge. It would draw players back and revive RoH.
