Minor Improvements

Color: A new color that allows group members to know an important message such as when they get teleported/ethereal-traveled/word-of-recalled

Mob Level: Having the ability to look at a mob and being told his level. For Example:
You see a surgeon.
He is wearing long white robes and looks very clean.
He is human. He is medium.
He is in excellent condition.
He looks upon with you admiration.
You could kill him with a needle. (Level 10)

Keys: Being able to type type a command such as 'open' or '(room name)' and having the mud automatically search your inventory for the key, then unlock and open the door. This should only work for doors with specified keys (not using a skeleton key if none are available). For Example:
Dark and Damp Corridor

You are in an extremely dark corridor in the Baladus Stockade dungeons.
The air is thick here with the smell of rotting flesh and
putrified wastes of some kind. Etched into a door to the east is
the word 'Ghonny'. An assortment of spears, hooks, and strange
looking armors and buckets sit here next to the door. A low
growling can be heard from beyond the door. You also hear
constant low breathing as if from some very large creature.
Obvious exits: stairs, door[cl].
Typing 'door' here would automatically search your inventory for a Huge Brass Key, and if it finds one, it goes ahead and unlocks the door, then opens it.

Combine: Having the ability to combine two identical wands into 1 'super wand'. For example, combing two wands of ice (1 shot a piece) into one wand of ice that has 2 shots. As a consequence, the wand can no longer be transmuted. The only obstacle I can think of with this idea is that there might need to be some sort of way to differentiate this wand from another "regular" wand of ice in your inventory.

Faction: Since gambling is generally frowned upon (especially in a Holy city such as Sigil, the gamblers in the vault should positively raise faction with the citizens of Sigil

(3/7/2010) Mobs: Was thinking it'd be nice to have more perm-run style mobs that require stun for mages to level. Back in the day the popular mobs were the traveling minstrels (which are still great mobs), but how about the addition of some more mage-friendly mobs placed in a couple more areas of the mud? The goal is to have some more mobs that are designed to be most advantageous for mage-like classes, and not other classes.

Bugs

(3/25/2010) Mage Leveling: When trading the book of protection (mage trade item for level 10 to 11) to Uriul the Head Researcher, he trades the book like normal for the bronze key, but doesn't actually take the book -- resulting in you having both a bronze key and the book of protection (which should've been traded).
Uriul's Private Laboratory

This is the private laboratory of Uriul, the head reasearcher.
Uriul is an ancient elven mage of undetermine age.  He has been
working in this laboratory for well over five hundred years, developing
new potions, wands and spells, and tweaking old ones.  Unlike many
of the other mages, Uriul is fond of company, and enjoys giving
aid to some of the younger, ambitious mages.
Obvious exits: out.
You see Uriul the Head Researcher.

(50 H 23 M 0X): trade book uri
Uriul the Head Researcher says, "Thank you for retrieving a book of protection for me.
For it, I will reward you."
Uriul the Head Researcher gives you the bronze key in trade.
(50 H 29 M 0X): inv
You have: a book of protection, a bronze key, a crimson scroll (M), a crystal rapier (+2), a dust bag(K).

Furthermore, this bronze key is busted and doesn't open the bronze door in the West Tower.

Mage Study

This is a common room for mage's to relax and enjoy a smoke.
There are several couches scattered about the room where mages
can sit around enjoying a pleasant conversation and a good
expensive cigar, or pipe.  The mages like to gather about here
discussing the latest research, and the freshest talents that
have recently begun studying magic.
Obvious exits: out.

(50 H 50 M 0X): unlock bronze bronze 
Wrong key.
(50 H 50 M 0X): l bronze
This thin bronze key unlocks a mage training room.
It is in pristine condition.
It is diminutive.

My gut tells me that the same situation may arise with the level 11 to level 12 brass key.

Major Improvements

(3/7/2010) Critical Magic: Having critical attacks occur not only in melee, but in spell-casting. With higher chance and damage/effect occuring based on a formula that takes into account both class and statistics[/cap]

You know, alot of these things are good ideas, but we also need to remember that to do some things, we still have this thing called a MUD CLIENT....Let's not get carried away.

There we go - I restyled your post Zale.

We'll never show you a monster's level, but like I mentioned to you already, there's a project in the works to colorize the message based on the monster's difficulty, not their level.

By the way..you really just hurt ocelot's feelings after you reformatted the frutacular color schemes....he inspired me.
