Gold is definitely a pain, especially since I'm at tnl 0 and broke.

Some good tricks for builders is stuff like: Expensive drops that are either really heavy or far from a pawn, forcing players to spend time traveling. The heavier or further away the more the drops can be worth. This also lends a lot of benefit to stronger classes which promotes team work with weaker classes like clerics and mages.

I'd have to say that gold is only a problem when people go all out exp and pay no attention to the drops of the monsters they're killing. A little slower on the exp front will net you sufficient cash to level when ready.
