I invite one and all to enter a little game of luck that I am running. In a land very far away I once stumbled upon a unique game being played by the locals. These gargantuan warriors would enter a court of play and try to put a ball into a basket suspended high in the air. It was quick paced game with many complex strategies and competitors of peak physical condition. Thousands upon thousands would come to the arena to cheer on their local team.
I have received by divine courier a schedule of their upcoming matches and would like to entertain bets on the outcomes. I have taken the liberty to level the odds for those that may have no knowledge of this game.
To entice competition I have thrown 25,000 gold pieces into the pot to get things rolling.
To enter transfer 5,000 gold pieces to my good friend Escrow.
The Nitty Gritty
This is a typical NBA pick'em pool with a little twist to help even the playing field for those with no knowledge of basketball. You can find the schedule here. Each game has been assigned a point value between 1 and 5. Games with higher values are between teams that are more evenly matched. This was determined by averaging rankings from across several sources and comparing the variance between each team and its matchup. The winner is the player with the most points at the end. In the event of a tie the winner will be person with the closest guess to the following question. How many total free throws will be attempted by both teams in the Atlanta v. Utah game on Feb. 22nd?
How do I enter?
Transfer 5,000 gold to Escrow from the character that you would like to enter. Each character can enter only once but players are only limited by the number of characters they have and gold.
Send me a message or mudmail listing your picks for each game, answer to tie breaker and character name by 3 P.M. CST Monday, February 15th.
If this works out and generates some interest I would like to run a March Madness bracket pool and maybe even an Oscar pool as well. This is all just in the name of some good 'ol fun. If anything is unclear let post up a message and I'll explain.
