Maybe Bane has something for them in the new magic system?

I was just looking at the rings/buckler thing from a numerical+practical point of view, as I usually do with things.

If they can get some other way of protection, it wouldn't be such a big deal.
Usagi <27> Werewolf. Sexy furball.
Plu <40> Mage/Thief. Pickpocketing for justice.
Ulp <40> Cleric (Ares). Lifts a ton, but can't spell it.
Miko <40> Cleric/Assassin (Aramon). She uses teeth.
Nili <40> Cleric (Gradius). Bearded woman.

2) I don't understand why liches are not allowed to wear rings; it does seem a bit odd. As far as shields, I was unaware that they had this restriction as well. That is a big source of armor and would be good for them to have.

The ability for liches to wear rings was removed due to their skeletal structure. Bony fingers do not accommodate so well for jewelry. Also, given that as a lich gets higher in level its body decays further it is even less likely at higher levels that one could wear such things.

so a super powerful lich wouldnt figure out how to attach a ring to its boney finger? wouldn't they use magic to somehow keep the ring on them? or wouldnt a magic ring resize itself to fit a boney finger?

maybe a lich would be too weak to hold a shield/buckler, but just because a lich is rotting, doesn't mean its weak. a skeletal warrior can have a shield, why not a lich? if a buckler/shield hinders spell casting, then a mage shouldnt get that either.

in fact, a lich taking more damage because its undead and decaying doesn't make sense to me at all. shouldn't all that magic infused into a lich make him stronger? id say a lich should gain armor as they level, sort of like a wolf or monk, but maybe not as good. maybe they should take more damage to crushing weapons as all skeletons should, but they should take reduced damage to piercing weapons and stuff like that.

A lich should be able to avoid being hit altogether using magic. You're a stun whore class. If you can't stun it don't fight it.

1) The statement I made was a result of what I was told by staff long ago when it was made so that liches could no longer wear rings
2) To say a lich could figure out how to make an item specifically not made for them in the game would mean that a lich could make figure out how to make any item usable by them. By that logic we should make it so they can wear platemail because they've figured out a magical way to do it and wield greatswords...etc because they magically learned a way to wield them.
3) Skeletal warriors aren't classes liches are
4) Liches aren't finished and need to be completely reworked with the transition from AC to the defense/armor system not to mention the revamp of the entire magic system -- liches used to gain a lower AC (like a monk/wolf as you stated)
5) What Disaron said.

Liches suck. Get rid of them entirely. MAYBE add them back at a later date as a quest class. :P
