I've wrestled with this one quite a bit. On one hand, rangers hate vampires and want then exterminated, but on the other hand, there's nothing more epic than the enemy turning you into what you hate.
I watched Hellsing not too recently and a vampiric ranger would be like Alucard - a vampire who hunts vampires
Heaven doesn't want me and Hell is afraid I'll take over.

vamps need more penalty imo. Maybe either during day they loose like 2 str or 2 con, and maybe gain 1 at night? or another option i propose is slower ticking during the day.
Slower ticking sounds like a great idea. I think stat modifiers would be appropriate as well.
There's also the option of including faction penalties - normal people are suddenly afraid of you.

I'd give rangers a higher resistance to being turned into a vampire, but not make them immune to hit.
