So I thought I'd do a bit of golding and headed off to skulls. Someone had mentioned that they were a bit buffer now, but I think that was an understatement!
I was in a bit of disbelief and feeling embarrassed that I couldn't take them out so I went back for round 2.
While I don't have anything against changes to balance out the game, I'm just curious as to whether they are intended to be this hard now. As you all know, I'm not much of a grouper, so if this was done in order to require more people to gold together ... maybe it's time for me to find a new place for gold? I don't mean to come off as a grouch; I love exploring with people, but xping/golding by myself is just my personality!

rofl wow... i never had to fight 6 before... haha maybe u just had some string of bad luck or maybe bane log a char and decided to bait the room next to u in hopes of killing ya =) lol jk

Well, I think the ridiculous part is that I did 400 damage and nothing died. Don't think that's bad luck. I'm told they've been changed back. I don't want quick reversions just because a few people complained though! Is there a reason why this was done in the first place?

I had trouble killing them as well. At one point I holyworded one for 111, dispelled it for 121 and crit for 101 and it didn't die. Add in the fact that they now scream for more, spawn faster, seem to be hasted, are worth about 2.2 time more xp, they were definately buffed. These things were on of the things that was fine and I absolutely do not understand the change. If you feel so inclined to change things, please change the fucking 100k group xp mobs, the fact that someone shows everyone every quest every time he makes a new one, or make perms harder. This one really irked me because it was fine before, it was probably one of the more balanced mobs in the game. Now that place is unbearable, especially at night. I also suggest getting rid of vile mobs for dwarves, it was a fucking stupid idea to begin with.

Bane already told you the changes to skulls were reversed.

Disaron: Not going to happen. Our staff is small enough and I'm not getting rid of a good builder. I don't see anyone else stepping up and helping code, build, provide ideas, formulas.
We're in a transitionary stage while 2.5 is being coded (working on it now) so expect balance issues. You really need to chill out on the bitching...a civilized discussion would be much better than yelling at him over IM...jesus..if you're going to act this way, then fine...go away, we'll find some more mature players that will HELP rather than BITCH and do nothing.
If you want to talk civilized and have an intelligent conversation, then hell we're open for ideas and you're welcome to stay, but just complaining and not doing anything to help...wears on our nerves.

Definitely out of whack - that's why they were changed back. People don't magically have the ability to balance mobs, it takes practice, and sometimes people make mistakes.
Changed. They were supposed to have weapon resistance that didn't work (part of the bug you posted about).

I disagree. I don't think it's a fucking stupid idea. And if you want to get rid of it, then you need to get rid Ceris/undead and vamps/wolves as well - they have the same alignment features.

Me and Dom just got new jobs...it's me dom and crayola right now as staff....
I'm finally having some time to code now, we're working on it as fast as we can. We're looking for a new coder now and we'll get some more builders once we find a new coder to help out.
You're free to look at the code and send in patches or point out areas that are bugs. Or better yet, find out the exact circumstances to reproduce a bug, it makes it much easier for us to fix. (Ie: find out what exactly causes stats to go down and we'll fix it...otherwise it's a needle in the hay stack)

Then we're going to disagree on alignment modification. I think a dwarf should be able to kill orcs all day and not have alignment problems. I think Ceris should be able to kill undead all day and not have alignment problems.
