Ocelot, I wouldn't mind things being harder. I also wouldn't mind a lot of things changing. Things HAVE become too easy, the only thing that is still challenging is golding. I like the direction of a lot of things with the game, but for anyone to say its not too easy right now is insane. There are other things that I currently dislike, but I will discuss them with a staff member as it does not belong in the open forums. I can name at least 10 characters I had to 20 or higher prior to any of the changes, so if Luminaire wants to claim I'm the level I am because the game is dumbed down, it pisses me off. More than likely if I hadn't bugged a lot of ppl to come back after the mud died and Duff finding Dom on aim, we wouldn't even be on this forum right now.

When I said this, which is the only thing you could be referring to, I was referencing the time back when no one had a character higher than 20. I wasn't directing that comment at you or any one person. Perhaps it came off wrong. Either way, you should know that I obviously realize you're skilled at the game.

I found the bug for this:
Code:
target->checkMagicalDefenses(caster, MAGICAL, ref);
ref = damage to the caster. Thus, it was never checking YOU for r-m, it was checking the target. Easy fix!

This should be live in a day or two.

Never mind; it turns out there is no central function in the code to do resist-magic. It'll take a bit of work, but I can make one.

Getting all the damage into a centralized function has proved to be quite a pain in the ass. But, there is a rewarding feeling in testing very rare cases:
(1 H 142 M): wield hoe
You wield a hoe (M).
(1 H 142 M): k boba
You hit Boba for 18 damage.
Your hoe casts a fireball spell on Boba for 8 damage.
Boba's shield of magic flares up and hits you for 8 damage.
You killed Boba.
