Public Guild

Public guilds are those that are entirely open to the public - anybody may join the guild without prior approval. The guild board is open to the public, but posting is left for guild members only. In this type of guild, any member may send an invitation request to a non-member.

Private Guild

A private guild does not allow the public to join their guild without approval. One must be invited to join the guild or must have a join request approved by an officer of the guild. The guild forum of such a guild is generally private as well, but the guildmaster can choose to make it public.

Exclusive Guild

Exclusive guilds are the same as private guilds except that the public is not allowed to request to join. One can only join this guild if they have been invited by the appropiate guild officer (or guildmaster).

Hidden Guild

A hidden guild is the same as an exclusive guild, except that this guild will not show up in guild listings or in guild searches. The existance of this guild is known only to its members. The board for this guild cannot be set to public.

The guildmaster of a guild is allowed to create officer positions within a guild and appoint guild members to these positions. The guildmaster is allowed to create a title for the position. Hidden guilds are generally allowed to have any title the guildmaster chooses, but other guilds are subject to review. A member may only have one position in the guild at a time. There are three types of positions available:

Warden

A warden position is second only to the guildmaster. They function as moderators, posessing all the abilities that a moderator does, and they also have the ability to invite other members and expel people from the guild.

Moderator

A moderator of a guild is much like a moderator of the public Realms forums - they can delete or lock posts they deem appropriate. A guild moderator, however, cannot move posts because the post most stay in the guild forum.

Normal Member

This is the default position in the guild. Members may access the guild forum.
